PH government feels ‘uneasy’ about my political work, says Najib

Najib Razak.
PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Najib Razak said the Pakatan Harapan government feels “uncomfortable” about his political work, so much so that it was harassing him and his family members.
“I’m forced to attend court four times a week. It’s only during the weekends that I attend to my political work.
“They do not want to see me being too free. Because if I am free, it will bring them problems,” he said when officiating the Pekan Umno division meeting today.
He claimed that the government was harassing his family members, including his mother, Rahah Mohamed Noah, at her house.
“They have come into her house. They even looked at the roof ceiling, thinking we keep money there.
“But they could not find anything and left,” he said, reminding the authorities that this was the home of the wife of the country’s second prime minister, Abdul Razak Hussein.
Najib was apparently referring to media reports that police had previously raided Rahah’s house in Kuala Lumpur as part of 1MDB investigations.
Najib is currently standing trial for alleged money laundering, criminal breach of trust and bribery over RM42 million in SRC International Sdn Bhd funds in his bank account. SRC was a 1MDB subsidiary.
He was also slapped with 25 charges of money laundering and abuse of power last September over alleged 1MDB funds in his AmBank accounts. - FMT
