The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) is prepared to consider increasing the amount of its advance financing warrant (WPP) to qualified students in future.
PTPTN chairman Wan Saiful Wan Jan (above) said the current amount of WPP offered to every qualified Malaysian student is RM1,500.
“There were requests for PTPTN to increase the amount of WPP awarded to qualified students.
“At present, the amount is RM1,500, but I think an increase can be considered from time to time to ensure that the students will get the best,” he told reporters after the presentation ceremony of WPP totalling RM538,500 to 359 students from Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, last night.
They are part of the WPP worth RM31 million issued by the PTPTN to 20,716 students to begin their degree studies in public universities during the September 2019 session.
Meanwhile, Wan Saiful said PTPTN had targetted loan repayment of RM2 billion from its debtors this year.
“InsyaAllah... we are on target and will intensify efforts to ensure that our debtors will make their loan repayment. Our official are always ready to provide help and assistance to the debtors.
“We also have plans to ease the loan repayment process, which we will announce later,” he added.
