KUALA LUMPUR: Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah has donated RM30,000 to assist the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital here.
Her Majesty's visit was in conjunction with the installation ceremony of her husband Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.Tunku Azizah's arrival at the hospital yesterday morning was welcomed by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa and Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, among others.
Tunku Azizah also spent about 30 minutes at the hospital's technology rehabilitation unit and its children's ward.
"Aside from that, the ministry has 3,324 trained staff in the sector to give such services across the nation.
"Our ministry provides rehabilitative services at all levels, including primary, secondary and tertiary.
"The large scope of services allows preventative activities and continuity rehabilitative process to be carried out effectively.
"Similar to other health services, for more complex cases will be recommended to the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital to provide more intensive treatment," said Dr Dzulkefly.
The hospital was built under the Ninth Malaysia Plan and is the first hospital in South-East Asia that provides comprehensive rehabilitation medicine services, with six wards and 166 beds.- Star
