KUALA LUMPUR: "PM" was not the only way to refer to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, as he was also referred to as Optimus Prime.
The High Court heard that fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, had referred to Najib as Optimus Prime in his Blackberry Messenger chats with former Ambank relationship manager Joanna Yu.
Yu said this during the re-examination conducted by ad hoc prosecutor Datuk V. Sithambaram here on Tuesday (Aug 6).
In the chats, Jho Low had referred to Najib as "OP". Najib was also previously referred to as "MNR", which stood for Mohd Najib Razak.
"I asked and was told it was the name of Optimus Prime, it meant (then) prime minister Najib," Yu said.
Sithambaram said as far as he knew, Optimus Prime was the supreme leader of the Transformers, causing the court to break into laughter.

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots in the popular Transformers cartoon series, which spawned a successful Hollywood movie franchise.
Najib, 66, is facing three counts of criminal breach of trust, one count of abusing his position and three counts of money laundering amounting to RM42mil in SRC International funds.
The hearing continues before Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali this afternoon.- Star
