KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator P Waytha Moorthy met India’s External Affairs Minister Shri S Jaishankar yesterday in New Delhi.
The minister, who is on an official working visit to India, conveyed the wishes of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his landslide victory in the May election, according to a statement from his office.
The statement said both governments acknowledged the existing close historical and cultural ties and that Waytha’s working trip would further enhance bilateral ties via trade, investment, infrastructure development, education, culture, tourism and other areas.
Malaysia is India’s 10th largest trading partner, with bilateral trade and economic cooperation involving over US$15 billion (RM63 billion). - FMT
