WHAT'S THE DEAL FOR DAP ON THE SUDDEN U-TURN ON KHAT WRITING

Most DAP MPs and ADUNs had actually had reservations on the introduction of Khat writing to the Standard 4 Bahasa Melayu class pupils commencing next year.

Khat writing and Jawi writing are similar in nature.

Now, we have been told that this Khat writing will only be taught four times a year for 10 minutes as a support material for the Standard 4 Bahasa Melayu syllabus which will comprise 5 or 6 Jawi characters.

Is it worth teaching this Khat when it is NOT an official Bahasa Melayu written language as per the agreed principle.

Need to agree with MP Lim Kit Siang that the Khat writing syllabus introduced into the Standard 4 Bahasa Melayu class pupils does violate Art 152 of the Federal Constitution which clearly states the writing must be RUMI SCRIPT of Bahasa Melayu.

Before being 'forced' to introduce this Khat writing, did Maszlee Malik and his officials seek prior approval from the Stakeholders?

It has been notified that DAP has now actually agreed to the introduction of Khat writing to Standard 4 Bahasa Melayu class pupils after meeting their MPs and ADUNs yesterday and after explaining the reasons behind the introduction.

Its a waste of TIME and MONEY to teach Khat writing if the pupils are not able to use it effectively. Are the Bahasa Melayu teachers fit and equip to teach.

What is the political agenda of PH to introduce this Khat writing to Standard 4 pupils?

Malaysians are in the dark as to why one has to study Khat writing when it is unconstitutional. Will DAP and Education Minister Maszlee Malik brief the Malaysian public immediately who had voted PH as their government. - Mohd. Kamal Abdullah
