Cops, RMAF member nabbed at night club, some tested positive for drugs

A total of 19 rank-and-file police officers were nabbed in an operation at a night club in Kuala Lumpur this morning where eight of them were tested positive for drugs.
Also arrested were a senior assistant registrar and a member of the Royal Malaysian Air Force, where the latter also failed the urine test.
This was confirmed by the Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) director Zamri Yahya.
They were aged between 26 and 33. It is learnt that one of the eight cops who tested positive for drugs is a female officer.

Zamri said in the 1am operation at a club along Jalan Raja Chulan, police had seized several packets believed to have contained drugs.
"JIPS will also take disciplinary action against these 19 cops because they have disobeyed the instruction by the inspector-general of police against visiting night clubs," he added.
It is also learnt that five of the cops tested positive for ketamine, two tested positive for ketamine, amphetamines, and benzodiazepine, while one cop tested positive for amphetamines.
They were all hauled to the lock-up at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters and they are expected to obtain remand orders from the court tomorrow.
Last month, Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador had said he was shocked by the number of men in blue who tested positive for drugs.
He revealed that more than 100 police officers were tested positive in an operation conducted in every police contingent since Aug 13.
"If police personnel, given the responsibility and trust to enforce the law, are themselves involved in such activities, what is going to happen to the country?" Hamid had said. - Mkini
