KUALA LUMPUR: PAS said it was once offered to be part of the state administration in Perlis, one of two states held by Barisan Nasional.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the party decided not to take up the offer despite its friendly terms with Umno.
“But we will respect all policies made by the Perlis state government, just as they have respected our policies in Terengganu and Kelantan,” Tuan Ibrahim told reporters at the Parliament today.
He said the two PAS-held states would not open up their exco positions for Umno despite their recent charter, adding that quota for excos has been filled up.
“There are several available positions, not as excos but in government agencies.”
On Saturday, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told the Terengganu Umno convention that the party could be given a role to play in the PAS-led state administration. - FMT
