KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): A row of shops near the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) flats in Kampung Baru, Jalan Tun Razak here was inundated after more than two hours of incessant rain.
In the incident around 6pm Tuesday (Oct 1), business at more than 10 units of shops was disrupted while some items were also damaged.
Zainon Dahan, 70, only realised that water had entered her dhobi shop at 6.30pm, and by then she said, it was too late to shift her things out.
"I moved here in 2006 and there was such a flood in 2011 but it wasn’t as bad as this,” she said.
Meanwhile, Jalan Tun Razak Fire and Rescue operations chief Sandra Segaran said six personnel were dispatched to the location after the station received a call around 6.30pm.
"The area was submerged in one metre of water likely due to drainage problem. There were no fatalities,” he said. - Bernama
