PKR picks up another MP, has 51 now

Perak PKR has claimed that it has recruited Bukit Gantang MP Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal into their ranks.
At the time of writing, attempts to reach Syed Abu Hussin (above) for verification have been unsuccessful.
Syed Abu Hussin quit Umno last July after winning the Bukit Gantang seat in his electoral debut, beating incumbent Idris Ahmad of PAS.
In a statement today, Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak said the decision to accept Syed Abu Hussin's application to join the party was made by the party's central leadership council today.

He said the party had received the application much earlier and had monitored Syed Abu Hussin over a long term before making a decision.
"With his experience, I am confident he can help the Pakatan Harapan government and be of value to Perak PKR.
"PKR now has 51 MPs and we hope that members at all levels will support our president as the eighth prime minister in the future," said Farhash.
Syed Abu Hussin was among the earliest MPs to leave Umno following the general election last May. In all, Umno has lost 17 MPs over the past year.
Currently, there is only one independent member of Parliament left in the form of Kimanis MP Anifah Aman. - Mkini
