PETALING JAYA: The price of RON97 petrol will go up by seven sen to RM2.67 from midnight until Oct 18.
The price of RON95 remains unchanged at RM2.08 per litre and diesel at RM2.18 per litre.
“Based on the calculation under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism, the retail prices for both RON95 and diesel should be increased to RM2.37 per litre and RM2.27 per litre respectively,” the finance ministry said in a statement today.
“However, they are capped at RM2.08 and RM2.18 per litre respectively following the government’s decision to stabilise fuel prices and to reduce the people’s cost of living.”
The ministry said Putrajaya will spend RM112.64 million in subsidies to rein in the price of fuel for the coming seven-day period. - FMT
