‘UNDER MAHATHIR’S 22-YEAR-RULE, MALAYS GOT RM1 – WHILE HIS CRONIES GOT RM9’: PRO-ZAHID BLOGS FLAY DR M’S MALAY ‘NO-DIGNITY’ CONGRESS – POINT OUT ‘READY TO JUMP SHIP’ FIGURES LIKE HISHAM & KHAIRY RUSHING TO BOOTLICK DR M

I PERSONALLY label it a convergence of no dignity. The Kongres Maruah Melayu or The Congress of Dignity is full of mavericks. Not even a single essence of Malay dignity was mentioned as it was full of people who are not deserved to be dignified.

Umno dispatched its sec-gen Annuar Musa and few leaders on the ground of the Malay agenda bandwagon it boasted few weeks before today’s event which saw Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir using it as a platform to draw public sympathy over his failure to put the Malays at par with others during his 22-year tenancy as the fourth premier.

It also saw Pas president Hadi Awang and his entourage attending it, together with Umno’s ‘ready-to-jump-the-ship’ figures like Hishammuddin Hussein and Khairy Jamaluddin.

I did support the idea of having such a Congress but after observing its political motive and demented agenda, I better forswear! I believe Hadi and Annuar feel the huddle.

The Congress failed to meet its purpose in finding ways on how to improve the Malay standing. It turned out to be a rhetoric event for Dr M to hit at the Malays further, belittling and chiding them for their poor showing.

In his 22-year ruling, I can say that the Malays were given RM1 while the cronies got RM9. His Vision 2020 was a failure because the pool of individuals whom he groomed to nurture more Malay millionaires, came to a halt.

Yes, the platform was not used to hammer other races but Dr M’s government is not Malay anymore. Even he allowed his minister to persuade the Malays in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur to sell their land and hence losing its Malay identity.

When the Chinese have their Chinatown and the Indians with their Little India, the only Malay holding in the capital is set to be taken away.

The Congress too did not unravel steps to boost the Malays but they were advised to grab whatever opportunity. What opportunity is left if much of it were given away to cronies of Pakatan Harapan and their family members.

Under PH, the Malays are finding themselves deprived of the basic rights to just and education when some cases were not attended to seriously by the Rule of Law. The Bahasa Melayu and Jawi are being erased slowly as the official language and its existence due the carelessness of the government.

These issues were taken for granted when some ministers applied other languages in the government official statements.

The abusive words against the Malay monarchy and Adib Mohd Kasim case are at the outrage of the Malays but Putrajaya took these people off the hook.

The disparity gap between urban and rural (where most Malays live) is widening to the extent that no remedy can be formulated to redress it. In Putrajaya, the Malays contractors found the doors slammed tight before them.

The Congress was also an act of sadism towards the Malay unity. More Malay factions and more splinters parties would be formed in the near future. I wonder whether this is what Dr M actually had always wanted to salvage his politics?

No need for me to go further since many NGOs and individuals are already avowing their disparaging reaction towards the Congress! It’s now time for the Malays to reconsider this disgusting event!
