KUALA LUMPUR: Malay Dignity Congress chief organiser Zainal Kling left the Bukit Aman federal police headquarters here at about 12.55pm after two hours of questioning.
Although he declined to reveal details on the session, his lawyer Mohd Hisham Marzuki said Zainal had been questioned together with Hashim Ismail, the director of Universiti Malaya’s Academy of Malay Studies.
“Both Zainal and Hashim cooperated fully with the police throughout the questioning under Section 112 of the Penal Code,” he said.
Zainal was called in for questioning this morning, reportedly over his speech at the Malay Dignity Congress in Shah Alam earlier this month.
Zainal had said the non-Malays were bound by a social contract with the Malays, and warned them that their citizenship could be suspended if they break the agreement. He also said that Malaysia belongs to the Malays.
Criminal Investigation Department chief Huzir Mohamed had said Zainal would be investigated based on a police report lodged by an aide to P Ramasamy, the Penang deputy chief minister.
He said the case would be investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code for intentional insult, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for use of network facilities to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass others. - FMT
