The second-generation settlers of Felda Tenggaroh 3, are now very happy as their wait of about two years to obtain land titles in the Felda scheme is over.
A recipient, Norimah Mohd Badri, 36, said she was grateful for the state government's concern because she would finally have her own home, after almost seven years of renting.
"I feel very happy and honoured because today the MB (menteri besar) himself came to hand over the land grants to us.
"Our monthly income is uncertain since my husband is self-employed.
“In fact, we are well aware that in the current economic situation, it is not easy to buy a house which will certainly require a large cost," said the housewife when met by Bernama at the scheme Tuesday.
Earlier, Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi handed over land titles to 191 second-generation settlers of the land scheme at Dewan Felda Tenggaroh 3.
Also present was State Tourism, Environment, Heritage and Culture committee chairperson K Raven Kumar, who is also the Tenggaroh assemblyperson.
Also sharing her joy was Norzalyana Abd Rahman, 30, because she can finally be “independent” as she has been staying at her family's house.
The mother of two also expressed her appreciation to the government for launching such an initiative and is determined not to waste the land lot.
"Alhamdulillah, I feel grateful to receive this special gift. Finally, my small family's dream of owning our own home will come true," he said.
Meanwhile, Onn Hafiz in a post on Facebook said he was happy to see the smiles on the faces of all the recipients.
"This is satisfaction and a boost for the state government to continue trying to solve the issues facing the people in Johor.
"God willing, hopefully, all these efforts will facilitate matters and benefit Felda settlers in the future," he said.
