SEREMBAN: The Public Sector Housing Financing Board (LPPSA) should be more considerate to PR1MA home buyers when the construction of their houses is delayed, says Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
"They can't charge as if the house is completed. Follow the bank system, not the sales and purchase agreement if the project is abandoned.
"If it (the house) is only 30% (completed) then the disbursement should only be 30%. They are already facing a heavy burden when the houses are not completed yet they still need to pay their installments.
"Don't be blind to it. I urge them to be considerate to those with houses with stalled construction," said the Barisan Nasional candidate for the Rembau parliamentary seat after meeting PR1MA home buyers in Rantau.
He said that the project was abandoned after GE14, when Pakatan Harapan took over the Federal government.
"The progress is now good after it was abandoned for 22 months.
"After an almost two-year disruption, we have a contractor to salvage the project with around 11% left to be completed," he said.
Mohamad, who is also the incumbent Rantau assemblyman, is contesting for the Rembau parliamentary constituency in GE15.
He is facing four other candidates, namely S. Tinagaran (Parti Sosialis Malaysia), Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus (Perikatan Nasional), Ramly Awaluddin (Gerakan Tanah Air) and Jufitri Joha (Pakatan Harapan). - Star
