GRS-BN Sabah govt unstable, claims Upko leader

Upko’s Ewon Benedick claims PH is the most stable of all the coalitions in contention in GE15.

KOTA KINABALU: With Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates clashing for parliamentary seats in Sabah, incoming Upko president Ewon Benedick claims the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-BN state government is unstable.

Ewon, the Pakatan Harapan candidate for Penampang, questioned whether GRS and BN could govern the state stably when they were clashing with each other at the general election (GE15).

This comes after Bersatu vice-president Ronald Kiandee decided to defend his Beluran seat under the PN banner, clashing with BN candidate Benedict Asmat.

Meanwhile, BN component Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) fielded Ewon Ebin in Ranau, taking on PN-Bersatu’s Jonathan Yasin, who is contesting under the GRS banner.

While Bersatu is a part of PN, Sabah Bersatu is a component of GRS.

Ewon said Sabahans and Malaysians should consider this situation as they cast their ballots if they wanted a government that was stable.

He claimed that PH was the most stable of all the coalitions in contention in GE15, adding that stability was crucial to develop the country. - FMT
