PETALING JAYA: Jentayu Sustainables Bhd and German hydropower technology firm Voith Hydro have entered into a collaboration agreement, with the two companies set to embark on the development of hydropower plants together.
Jentayu and Voith, the leading hydropower technology company globally, signed the agreement at the latter’s headquarters in Heidenheim, Germany.
Jentayu executive chairman Beroz Nikmal Mirdin described the collaboration as an “exciting milestone”, saying the German company’s work culture and ethics had made it relevant for over 150 years.
“Voith’s involvement in the pre-engineering phase will ensure an efficient design of our plants and their innovative technology provides not only operational reliability, but also cost savings.
“Through these efficiencies and value creation, we believe that this collaboration will enhance and expedite the growth of Jentayu’s market presence, both locally and regionally,” he said in a statement.
Beroz believed that the partnership would benefit both companies while boosting Jentayu in its aspirations to be a major green energy player in the region.
The collaboration will involve early joint development activities in the design, execution, implementation, operation, as well as maintenance in hydropower plant projects in the future.
This will also be a precursor to a series of other agreements which will be signed in January. - FMT
