Pejuang Shah Alam candidate Rafique Rashid has offered his team’s services on the ground in Sections 17 and 18.

“As of now, the situation in Sections 17 and 24 is under control, the water levels have not risen. The rain is still heavy, stay safe everyone,” he said.

Kota Kemuning assemblyman V Ganabatirau shared on his Facebook page that flash floods have also hit Bukit Kemuning and Bukit Rimau.

Residents and election candidates had been posting updates and pictures of the areas hit by floods on social media.

He added that the irrigation and drainage department (DID) officers have turned on four water pumps at the sluice gates and reservoirs.

National news agency Bernama said several areas in Shah Alam were inundated after two hours of heavy rain.

Meanwhile, DID said several areas in the Peninsula are at risk of flash floods.

In Kuala Lumpur, these areas include PWTC, Jalan Loke Yew, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Masjid Jamek and the Kesas toll.

Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan districts such as Jelebu, Rembau and Seremban are also at risk. - FMT
