Ten Bagan Datuk projects cancelled by govt of 'BN's enemies' - Zahid

GE15 | The Bagan Datuk parliamentary constituency saw 10 main development projects cancelled and 25 more postponed under the administration of Pakatan Harapan, claimed BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

In a Facebook posting today, the Bagan Datuk candidate called upon the constituents to remember the “betrayal from BN’s enemies” while they were in government for 22 months.

“They, who are now Harapan and PN, used to conspire to oppress the people of Bagan Datuk.

“After GE14, BN’s enemies agreed to cancel 10 main development projects in Bagan Datuk. Another 25 development projects for the people of Bagan Datuk were postponed suddenly.

“The financial implication excuse used (for the cancellations of the projects) was very hurtful, but what could we do? It was as if, in their eyes, there was no value in Bagan Datuk or its people,” Zahid (above) said.

He said those projects were planned for Bagan Datuk under the 11th Malaysian Plan and its cost and benefits had been examined by the BN government before GE14.

The BN government had all sorts of plans for Bagan Datuk, involving billions of ringgit, after the area was recognised as a new district in Perak in 2017, he said.

“But the politics of BN’s enemies are inhumane. (They) are willing to cancel and postpone development projects in our beloved district,” Zahid lamented.

As such, he urged the people of Bagan Datuk to rise up on polling day on Nov 19 and work together to give BN a big victory in GE15 this time.

“So they know the meaning of regret for once betraying and oppressing Bagan Datuk, as well as to defend the prosperity and well-being of Bagan Datuk and Malaysia as a whole,” Zahid said.

Zahid, who has been the MP for the area since 1995, will be defending his seat against Harapan's Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, PN's Muhammad Faiz Na'aman and independent Tawfik Ismail, the son of former deputy prime minister Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman. - Mkini
