A photograph of Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah holding a photo of the suspect sought in the murder of a prominent businessman went viral online yesterday.
This was because the suspect, identified as Kong Swee Kwan, bore a striking resemblance to the senior police officer.
However, Ku saw one major difference between the suspect and him.
"I am more handsome," he had said in a text message to The Star Online. The report stated that Ku had also included a smiley at the end of his message.
Agreeing with Ku, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar also felt that the CID chief was better looking.
"Definitely, my OCCI (CID chief) is more handsome and mean," he told Malaysiakini, adding that the suspect should surrender immediately.
Even Malaysiakini readers could not refrain from commenting on the likeness, with one comparing it to a Bollywood movie.
"That looks like KL CID chief Ku Chin Wah. Twin brothers separated at birth?
"One becomes a criminal and the other a top cop! Bollywood movie made in Malaysia!" stated a reader, who used the pseudonym Botak Chin, one of Malaysia's most infamous criminals.
The police are looking for the 44-year-old suspect to facilitate investigations into the fatal shooting of Arab Malaysian Bank founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi.
On July 29, Najadi, 75, was gunned down after a man opened fire at him and his wife at a car park outside the Kuan Yin Temple at Jalan Ceylon in Kuala Lumpur.
