Change of MB? Ask Razif, ask Najib, says Ahmad Said

Former Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Said today refused further comments on speculations that Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman's days in office are numbered.
This comes after he had previously threatened to spill the beans on his successor.
"I have no comments. This is a sensitive issue that involves Tuanku," said Ahmad in reference to Terengganu's Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.
"Don't make any speculations...," Ahmad told Malaysiakini.
The Kijal state-assemblyperson had earlier this month claimed that he has informed Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to seek an audience with Sultan Mizan, requesting for the menteri besar to be removed.
He also warned Ahmad Razif to not allow the political situation in Terengganu to reach a point where the sultan is forced to dissolve the state legislativde assembly.
Asked whether his warning was related to the current situation, Ahmad Said insisted that the question should be directed to Ahmad Razif and Najib.
“Ask the man himself (Razif)… ask the PM. This is not about politics… this is between the sultan and Razif,” he said.
Ahmad Razif had yesterday similarly dodged all questions on the matter when met by reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting in Wisma Darul Iman, Kuala Terengganu.
“Ask the PM,” said the Seberang Takir state assemblyperson.
Speculation had been rife of strained ties between the Terengganu palace and Ahmad Razif after he was introduced at two official events last weekend without any honorary titles.
On Monday, the Terengganu palace issued a statement confirming that Ahmad Razif’s titles were removed, effective April 22, and this added more fuel to the talks of a change in the state’s menteri besar.
Najib, who is currently in Sarawak for BN’s state election campaigns, is scheduled to have an audience with Sultan Mizan soon. -Mkini
