Did Reezal the Dep Foreign Minister really say this?

said Deputy Foreign Minister Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

Reezal said time to accept fact simple majority enough to form administration.

“Many countries are also following the simple majority seat requirement.

“Gone are days where govt formed based on 2/3 majority he told reporters 

My comments : Was the guy misquoted? Did he really say this? Even the kucing restoran knows that you DO NOT NEED 2/3 or 4/6 or 6/9 to form a government.

You only need a simple majority. This goes without saying. 

Reezal should know that in Perak and Terengganu only about TWO seats separate the govt from the opposition.  That is a very simple majority.  

In Negeri Sembilan too there is no 2/3 majority. 

In Parliament the BN lost their 2/3 majority in 2008 and 2013.  In 2018 they are going to lose everything. 

Under Slumberjack, the BN first lost the 2/3 in Parliament and they lost FIVE states (Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor and Kelantan).

Under Najib the BN lost more seats in Parliament and still lost Penang, Selangor and Kelantan. 

The popular vote was also lost to the Opposition.

That is a very strong down trend.  

Menteri pun tak faham simple majority dan two thirds majority.

A simple majority does not have to be written down. It is common sense.

2/3 majority is just a convention, but it has been written down. You dont need 2/3 to form the government but you need 2/3 majority in Parliament  to amend the Federal Constitution.  Boleh faham ke bro?

The same would apply in most States. Although some states are more whacky than others. Another story.
