PETALING JAYA – The owner of the Bentley that had crashed into a food court at Menara Millenium in Damansara has denied rumours that the son of Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil was involved in the incident.
He told the Star Online on Saturday that rumours circulating online alleging that the former Cabinet Minister’s son was driving the car during the 10.10am incident on Friday were untrue.
He added that he was alone in the car during the incident and said that he has made a police report concerning Friday’s incident.
It was reported that he had accidentally stepped on the accelerator of his car while attempting to retrieve a parking access card which had fallen on the floor of the vehicle.
City Traffic Investigation and Legal Affairs staff officer Deputy Supt Shafie Daud said that no injuries were reported, as there were only a few people inside at the time.
He added that the case is being investigated for carelessness under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
