KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is temporarily closing several offices and counters from July 5 following the EMCO announced by the government.
The affected offices and counters are EPF Rawang, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Puchong, Klang, Kajang, and Gombak in Selangor as well as EPF Kuantan, Jerantut and Pekan in Pahang.
Appointments previously made for this period had been cancelled, and members were asked to make a new appointment to a date after the EMCO period ends, EPF said in a statement today.
Priority would be given to appointments for those aged 50, 55, and 60, and applications for incapacitation and death withdrawals.
The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) also said its service counters in EMCO areas will be temporarily closed from tomorrow.
This would involve all tax services, stamp duty and government special assistance counters.
“All appointments approved via e-Janji Temu have been canceled and customers will have to apply for a new appointment when the counters reopen,” IRB said in a statement.
It said payment centre counters would continue to operate but only from 8am to noon on weekdays.
The IRB Hasil Care Line and Hasil Live Chat would continue to operate as usual. - FMT
