Areas in Teluk Intan, Larut, Bidor, Tapah under EMCO lockdown

 

PETALING JAYA: Several localities in Perak, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak will go under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from July 20 to August 2.

A statement today by deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob listed the areas as:

Perak – Taman Melor Fasa 1 in Teluk Intan, Hilir Perak; Kampung Batu 19 ½ and Kampung Batu 20 in Larut; and several parts of Bidor and Tapah in Batang Padang district. They are: Taman Awam 3 Bidor, Taman Permata Bidor, Taman Sri Bidor, Taman Bidor Jaya/Kampung Cegar Tambahan in Bidor; and Taman Tapah/Taman Bunga Raya/Kampung Datuk, Taman Sri Damai 1 and 2, Taman Sri Tapah, Taman Sri Tapah 2, Taman Sri Asoka, Kg Batu Kg Pahang, Kg Batu 5 Tapah Road, Kg Baru Pekan Getah, Kg Batu Melintang and Kg Tanah Mas.

Sabah – Kampung Long Kiangan and Kampung Ranau-ranau in Sipitang; Kampung Muhibbah and Kampung Bakalau in Beaufort; Ladang Agathis in Kalabakan; Kampung Dandulit Matunggong in Kudat; Taman Teluk Likas, Kampung Gusung, Taman Kurnia Jaya and the Kilang Perai Kaya staff quarters in Kota Kinabalu; Kampung Nosoob in Penampang; and Kampung Solob and Kampung Tunas Baru in Sipitang.

Kelantan – Kampung Lepah and Kampung Alor Hijau in Pasir Puteh.

Sarawak – Kampung Emperoh Nyiru Grait in Kuching

Kelantan – staff quarters at Ladang Lepan Kabu, and part of Kampung Pahi in Kuala Krai

EMCO extension

The EMCO in Kampung Serudung Baru in Tawau, Sabah, will be extended from July 20 to August 2.

MCO offences

Ismail said 4,406 compliance task force teams were deployed to conduct checks on 74,793 premises yesterday.

A total of 441 people were arrested for flouting SOPs, with 423 of them issued compound notices and 18 remanded.

The authorities also detained 13 undocumented migrants yesterday as part of the ongoing Op Benteng campaign. Two vehicles were also seized.

On mandatory home quarantine, Ismail said 251,262 people who arrived at KLIA were screened for Covid-19 from July 24 last year to July 17 this year and were placed under quarantine.

A total of 3,323 tested positive and were sent to hospital for treatment, while 238,726 have been allowed to return home.

Some 9,213 people are currently undergoing mandatory quarantine. - FMT
