PAS has denied mobilising its members to influence a Facebook poll on whether the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government's management of the Covid-19 pandemic was a failure.
This was after a WhatsApp message was circulated asking PAS members to vote "not a failure" on the poll which was started by former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Selangor PAS secretary Roslan Shahrir Mohd Shahrir (above), when contacted, said the party did not issue any such message on social media.
"Selangor PAS never issued such a directive," he said.
The WhatsApp message provided a link to the poll asking PAS members and supporters to vote in favour of the PN government.
At the time of writing, the poll was voted on more than 263,500 times. Some 77 percent voted "failure" while 23 percent voted "not a failure".
Najib, who is the Pekan MP, started the poll in response to government ministers rebutting claims that the PN government had failed.
The Covid-19 pandemic in the country is at its worst level despite a "total lockdown".
The 87,841 active cases of Covid-19 recorded yesterday is the highest since the Covid-19 pandemic started in Malaysia in January 2020. - Mkini
