PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan is again demanding that Muhyiddin Yassin resign as prime minister, this time over the surging number of Covid-19 cases and deaths over the past couple of days.
Muhyiddin must take responsibility for his administration’s failure to contain the pandemic via its policies, the PH presidential council said in a statement today.
These include the various movement restrictions, confusing SOPs as well as the weak and selective enforcement of SOPs which had led to factories becoming the biggest contributors of Covid-19 clusters.
The people, the opposition coalition said, should not endure such misery because both the government and the prime minister have failed, especially considering Muhyiddin has lost his parliamentary majority.
“Pakatan Harapan is demanding for the prime minister to take responsibility over these failures and resign immediately,” the PH presidential council said.
The statement was issued by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
