Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has been issued another compound for failing to wear a face mask, in contravention with Covid-19 prevention measures.
This is the second time Tajuddin has been penalised for failing to wear a face mask.
Speaking on the latest incident, Sentul OCPD Beh Eng Lai said investigations found that Tajuddin attended Parliament yesterday.
“At about 2.30pm of the same day, he was found to be not wearing a mask while with another individual at the Parliament’s lobby.
“For that violation of standard operating procedures, a compound has been issued against him at 1pm today,” he said in a statement today.
The investigation came after a netizen posted a photo of Tajuddin apparently speaking to another person at the Parliament’s corridors.
The photo showed Tajuddin without a mask, while the other person had a cloth mask.
However, Beh did not mention the quantum of the compound issued against Tajuddin.
Previously, Tajuddin was fined RM1,500 for violating Covid-19 SOPs during a press conference on May 25 regarding the LRT accident a day earlier.
He was wearing a face shield during the press conference, which the Health Ministry had said is no substitute for a face mask.
The wearing of face masks in public places has been made mandatory since Aug 1 last year. - Mkini
