PETALING JAYA: A 51-year-old man in Pasir Puteh in Kelantan has been arrested by the police on suspicion of raping his own daughter while his wife was out for work.
According to a Berita Harian report, the man was arrested after his daughter, 16, lodged a police report on the matter.
Pasir Puteh police chief Mohd Azmir Damiri said the victim had revealed that she had also been raped several times over the past few months.
“The victim lived with her parents and three other siblings. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect entered the victim’s bedroom to rape her.
“She was raped after her mother left for work while her other siblings were still asleep.”
Azmir added that the victim had not told anyone about what was happening because she was afraid of being scolded and beaten by her father.
The suspect, who was arrested yesterday, has been remanded for seven days until July 22. The case is being investigated under Section 376B of the Penal Code. - FMT
