Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin today expressed gratitude for the Selangor police's commitment to help the needy.
In a statement today, Zuraida said her constituency office (Ampang) will coordinate with the local police station to serve these goals.
“I welcome (their) statement, which is very timely and shows that the entire government machinery is working hard to help the people.
“All available resources are being used, which shows our concern for those in need,” said Zuraida.
Yesterday, Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed said police personnel will be on the lookout for those facing all sorts of problems - food shortages, depression or financial problems, among others.
“After we have identified them, we will help them connect with the Welfare Department, zakat assistance, and so on,” he told Media Selangor.
This was Arjunaidi's response to the ongoing “white flag” movement, where the needy are encouraged to signal if they are in need of help. - Mkini
