Conducted by JPJ with other agencies, the operation involved inspecting 304,552 motorcycles, issuing 78,152 summonses, and seizing 2,125 motorcycles.
Drug tests revealed 34 motorcyclists were positive. Authorities emphasised strict enforcement of the Road Transport Act 1987 to ensure road safety and urged the public to report violations via the MyJPJ app or email.
The operation aims to minimise accidents and fatalities involving motorcycles.
“The highest offence detected was driving without a license, with 22,601 cases, followed by expired road tax (16,789) and no insurance (15,117).
“Other offences include non-compliant registration plates (4,699), expired driving licenses (1,606), and underage riders (167),” Road Transport Department (JPJ) Planning and Operations deputy director-general Datuk Jazmanie Shafawi said during a press conference on the Special Motorcycle Operation in Jalan Bangsar.
He urged the public to report traffic offences directly via the MyJPJ application.
“Complaints can be submitted through the MyJPJ application: e-Aduan@JPJ or emailed to aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my along with complete details of the complaint,” he said. – Foccus Malaysia
