PETALING JAYA: The Kelantan state government issues a warning for a potential second wave of floods beginning Wednesday (Dec 4).
“Caution! Kelantan has been forecasted to face a second wave of floods on Dec 4,” it said in a social media post on Sunday (Dec 1).
As of 4pm on Sunday, more than 150,000 individuals have been displaced due to the floods, which ravaged eight states across 35 districts nationwide.
The 150.832 evacuees comprised 44,336 families.
Kelantan is the hardest hit with 96,657 evacuees, followed by Terengganu (41,788), Kedah (8,427), Negri Sembilan (1,617), Pahang (1,152), Johor (528), Melaka (238) and Perlis (75).
Three deaths have been recorded so far, with one each in Pasir Puteh and Machang in Kelantan on Nov 27, and one in Besut, Terengganu on Nov 28.
A total of 672 temporary relief centres have been opened so far.
