Budi95: Most Malaysians use less than 200 litres a month, says PM

PARLIAMENT | Most Malaysians are using less than two-thirds of their 300 litres per month of Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) fuel subsidy, according to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Speaking in Dewan Rakyat, Anwar, who is also the finance minister, revealed the average usage of Budi95 is 100 litres a month since it was implemented in September.

“Current usage is around an average of 100 litres, even though it can go up to 300.

“And 90 percent are using no more than 200 litres per month. So, while during debates there were some who claimed the quota is not sufficient, that is not really the case in reality.

“This is based on implementation,” he said during an oral question-and-answer session this morning.

Anwar was responding to a question posed by Fong Kui Lun (Harapan-Bukit Bintang), who wanted to know how much the government has managed to save from its implementation of the targeted fuel subsidy programme. - Mkini
