Fuziah 'overacting' over RM9.5m claim

YOURSAY | 'You can threaten everyone, but the truth will eventually surface, just like 1MDB.'

PKR threatens legal action over slander against party leadership

Knucklehead: PKR secretary‑general Fuziah Salleh, you sound uncannily like Umno during the 1MDB revelations. Careful, PKR is racing toward Umno 2.0, and fast.

You can threaten everyone now, but the truth will surface, just as 1MDB eventually did for the world to see.

You can’t run, you can’t hide, and you certainly can’t silence the truth.

Justice for All 2026: Fuziah, I think you’re overreacting. We all know PKR has enough issues on the table at the moment, and you can’t afford to have more scandals, accusations, and whatever issues thrown at its leadership.

The stress level will certainly go further north. The best approach for now is to wait for all the information and documents to be laid bare for all to see. Then you can make comments or even threats if there’s malice towards PKR leadership.

In hindsight, what if those documents have the material and substance that support businessperson Victor Chin’s allegations? That’s why, for now, just stay quiet, remain calm, and don't jump the gun.

RA 1965: Fuziah, you should not only uphold the integrity of PKR leadership but other institutions as well:

1) Parliament, where issues brought up by MPs are discussed openly and transparently but blatantly rejected by your speaker, who is not an elected MP.

2) Police, to be answerable to Parliament and the inspector-general of police, not through a spokesperson for the IGP, such as the ineffective home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who is not even an MP in the first place. What integrity are you upholding here?

3) MACC, chief commissioner Azam Baki appears to have disregarded the rules and regulations on the shares and corporate mafia issues, while Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim defends him. What integrity and good governance is your PM upholding now? Is this the type of leadership integrity you want to uphold?

This coming 16th general election, PKR will gulung tikar, and there will be no return forever. Good luck.

GanMu: Chin only claimed that a PKR MP had solicited RM10 million from him. How does this translate to spreading slander against the party’s leadership?

Fuziah has to wait for more information on the MP, and thereafter, PKR’s recourse is to take action against the MP for tarnishing the party’s image.

Perikatan Nasional secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan is spot on in stating that the allegations were deeply troubling.

These serious questions over corporate governance, abuse of political influence, and the integrity of the nation’s institutions are a follow-through from the first allegations against MACC.

The government’s inaction in setting up a royal commission of inquiry in the first place could have revealed this and possibly more. RCI would have helped the government to gauge the damage.

What is really worrying is that this could be the tip of the iceberg. More “rats” will be crawling out and will start to squeak.

Unfortunately, there has been no response from the PM. He appears to be “obsessed” with the Iran war and is spending precious time speaking to as many heads of government as he can on the issue, even welcoming the peace efforts by Pakistan.

What is he trying to achieve with this besides a publicity stunt?

A simple issue on the outcome of Azam’s investigation has not been addressed since March 10. The allegations against MACC have not been resolved.

As PM, Anwar should be looking seriously at the economic issues we are facing from the war in Iran. Immediately set up a special task force to come up with strategies, plans, and specific measures to face the crisis.

Merely spending precious time making calls for publicity will not help us. He should ask his deputy, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, to take charge of local issues.

Gasinggeorge: Anwar should realise that scandals like these will keep coming, and they weaken him. Inaction and cowardice will mean punishment at the ballot.

This is a shame; his tenure as PM could have been so transformative. Instead, he is just another prime minister mostly occupied by unnecessary problems, infighting, and scandals. His legacy seems to be that he is just there to keep the lights on.

Letdown since 2018: Integrity - do they really understand the meaning of this word?

Independent - what is independent if they absolve themselves of any wrongdoing?

The jumping starts even before anyone is named. Self-preservation mode is activated first.

It has to be seen how this will play out.

At the end, it will actually be all about money. Anti-corruption action has to be initiated, surely?

BlackFalcon4007: There is no need to talk and talk only; just have a thorough investigation to confirm whether these claims are legitimate: these are serious matters.

If a thorough investigation confirms allegations are true, take action; if false allegations, then end of story.  Don’t be emotional about it.

It is part of good governance, and the public has the right to know.

Be transparent. Why are you so scared and defensive that you want to directly take legal action, without any investigation? - Mkini
