Party president Mukhriz Mahathir says Pejuang hopes ties between the two parties can be restored to strengthen PN.

However, he hoped relations between the two parties could be strengthened again to bolster PN, especially ahead of future political contests.
Mukhriz said since Pejuang joined PN as a component party, it has not faced any issues with any party in the coalition, despite PAS and Bersatu ending their political cooperation.
Recently, (Bersatu president) Muhyiddin Yassin himself came down to Gambir, and I was also with PAS in Simpang Jeram. That shows we have no problems with either side.
“So, what role do we have in becoming a mediator? I don’t think that is necessary. But we hope their relationship can be strengthened,” he told FMT while helping with PN’s campaign in Gambir.
Mukhriz said the most important thing now is for all PN component parties in Johor to continue working under the coalition’s banner.
“What matters is that in Johor, we are contesting under one PN banner,” he said.
PAS ended its political cooperation with Bersatu on June 8, but the two parties have chosen to remain in PN.
Prior to the announcement, Hadi said several issues had strained ties between the two parties, including the move to unseat the Perlis menteri besar, alleged interference in appointments in Kedah and Kelantan, and Bersatu’s opposition to admitting new Malay-Muslim parties into PN. -- FMT
