The husband-wife mixed doubles shuttlers beat American duo Chen Zhi Yi-Francesca Corbett in straight games at the World Tour Super 750 championships.

PETALING JAYA: National mixed doubles shuttlers Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie booked a last-16 berth at the Japan Open this morning, defeating American pair Chen Zhi Yi-Francesca Corbett in straight games.
The husband-wife world No 11 pair won 21-13, 22-20 in a match that lasted 33 minutes against their 48th-ranked rivals at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
This is the second time the Malaysians have beaten their opponents in as many encounters.
However, they will not have it easy in the next round tomorrow where they will face either Japan’s Hiroki Midorikawa-Misaki Matsutomo or Jiang Zhen Bang-Ya Xin Wei of China.
Soon Huat-Shevon have been struggling this season, making it to the quarter-final stage only three times in the 10 tournaments they have played in so far. - FMT
