Jais says the man and his family should be allowed to practise Islam without a digital footprint that portrays them in a negative light.

Jais director Shahzihan Ahmad said the recommendation was intended to support the man and his family, who had repented and wished to practise Islam without a digital footprint that portrayed them, the religious authorities, Muslims and Islam in a negative light.
“Let us be charitable towards one another as Muslims, safeguard our fellow Muslims’ dignity, respect each other and work together to raise awareness in an environment that supports the wellbeing of Aliff Daniel, his family and the Muslim community as a whole,” he said in a statement today.
Aliff Daniel, 21, his mother Rohizayanti Ramli, 52, and younger sister Nur Ranea Ezreen, 19, had publicly recited their repentance in a ceremony before three principal witnesses on Nov 5.
The ceremony was held a day after he was ordered by the shariah lower court to undergo three months of faith rehabilitation after pleading guilty to a charge of wrongful worship by participating in a ritual at a temple in Batu Caves in January 2024, including carrying a religious object, piercing his body and kneeling before an idol. - FMT
