The Rantau state seat in Negeri Sembilan will face a by-election following the dismissal of an election petition filed by acting Umno president and former Menteri Besar Mohamad Hassan (above, left).
In dismissing the appeals by the EC and Mohamad Hassan, chief justice Richard Malanjum said PKR candidate Dr S Streram (above, right) had locus standi (legal standing) to file the petition.
He also ruled that Stream had properly stated the election offences.
Justice Malanjum ordered the EC and Mohamad to each pay RM10,000 in costs.
