PETALING JAYA: Police arrested a man and two teenagers in connection with a baby dumping case at Presint 18, Putrajaya.
The baby was found dead in the back of a garbage lorry at 9.27am on Thursday (Feb 7). One of the teenagers arrested is believed to have been given birth to it.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the 17-year-old had given birth to the baby at about 11.30am on Wednesday (Feb 6).
"She then covered the baby's mouth and wrapped it up in a towel and blankets before stuffing it into a school bag.
"She put the school bag into a trash bag and left the bag outside the house with the rest of the trash," he said in a statement on Friday (Feb 8).
The teenager's father then threw away the baby with the rest of the trash at a nearby garbage collection site in the housing area.
"We have arrested the girl, her boyfriend, also 17, and her father, 43," he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth and secretly disposing of it.-Star
