Bersatu's Aiman 'rattled' by Najib but confident of convincing Semenyih voters

SEMENYIH POLLS | Muhammad Aiman Zainali, Pakatan Harapan's candidate for the Semenyih by-election, admitted that he was somewhat rattled by former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's campaign in the constituency.
However, the 30-year-old electrical engineer graduate said he was confident of convincing voters to back him.
"That (being rattled) is the case perhaps to some extent, but I am also seeing good acceptance when I approach the people here.
"I will press on to forge closer ties with the people of Semenyih," he told journalists during a walkabout at a food court in Beranang, Semenyih this morning.
Mohammad Aiman was asked whether he was concerned about Najib's campaign in Semenyih.
Some 1,000 people turned up to see Najib who gave a talk at Pangsapuri Baiduri in Bandar Tasik Kesuma, Beranang.
A similar event nearby featuring Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari attracted a smaller crowd.
Najib also attracted a substantial crowd during a visit to Tesco Semenyih last Wednesday.
Muhammad Aiman said he believed Semenyih voters will support him despite his young age.
"Alhamdulillah, the people appear to be supportive of me during my visits to markets, mosques and surau, and I hope these will translate to votes," he said. - Mkini
