PETALING JAYA: A driver of a BMW was burnt to death when the vehicle was engulfed in flames, following an accident near Subang Airport.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said initial investigations revealed that the driver had lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to swerve to the side of Jalan PJU 1A/1 before hitting a tree at about 4.45am on Sunday (Feb 17).
“The impact of the crash caused the car to burst into flames.
“It took firemen 15 minutes to put the flames out,” he said when contacted.
The driver could not be identified as he was burnt beyond recognition while the car’s registration number was also burnt, making identification difficult, he added.
“We are investigating further to identify the car’s number plate and the identity of the victim.
“The body has been sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for post-mortem,” ACP Mohd Zani said.- Star
