The Home Ministry will meet with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to decide on the replacements for the inspector-general of police and his deputy, both of whom are expected to retire soon.
Mohamad Fuzi Harun is expected to retire in May while deputy Noor Rashid Ibrahim will retire in March.
Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin confirmed that he will discuss the successors for the two top cops with Mahathir.
"We will decide on who will helm these two important positions.
"I will discuss with the prime minister soon," he said at a press conference after chairing a Bersatu meeting in Semenyih.
Noor Rashid's term was extended in March last year, several days before he was due to retire.
Fuzi replaced his predecessor Khalid Abu Bakar, who retired in September 2017. - Mkini
