SEMENYIH POLLS | PKR deputy president Mohammed Azmin Ali appeared to have touched a raw nerve by poking fun at former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor.
Speaking to reporters while campaigning at Baranang, Selangor today, Najib responded to Azmin's recent jibe to which the former premier said the campaign should not involve wives.
"No need to talk about wives. There's no need to go there. There are a lot of stories about his wife too," said Najib curtly before walking off.
Azmin had ribbed Najib in front of several ceramah audiences over the latter's new "bossku" persona.
During a ceramah at Kampung Rinching Hilir two nights ago, Azmin said Najib had added casual motorcycle rides to his repertoire.
"Tomorrow, when 'bossku' shows up on a motorcycle, the children will be shouting 'bossku', 'bossku'...
"I would like to suggest that if he is coming along, bring that 'other' person. Don't come alone.
"Let that 'other' person ride pillion," quipped Azmin.
Earlier, Najib was mobbed by Beranang townsfolk while having breakfast at a stall.
He was joined by BN candidate Zakaria Hanafi, Umno supreme council member Ahmad Maslan and Hulu Langat Umno division chief Johan Abdul Aziz.
Najib told reporters that Pakatan Harapan's campaign should focus less on him and more on what the ruling party could offer.
"That is the main issue. They are sidetracking by talking about me," he said. - Mkini
