Online registration for MySalam insurance scheme now open

Online registration for MySalam – Putrajaya's new insurance scheme for the bottom 40 percent (B40) income group – was launched today.

Announcing this in a statement, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng reiterated that policyholders would benefit from a one-off payment of RM8,000 should they suffer from one of the 36 critical illnesses listed.
In the event of hospitalisation, policyholders will also be able to claim RM50 a day in reimbursement for loss of income for up to 14 days, a maximum of RM700 a year.

"This initiative became a reality due to participation from Great Eastern Holdings, which contributed RM2 billion for MySalam.
"This is a model for true public-private partnerships in building a social safety net for Malaysians," said Lim.
Registration can be carried out on the MySalam website, which also contains a section on frequently asked questions about the scheme. - Mkini
