Civil servants who refuse to carry out the directives of the new government should face disciplinary action, says Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan president Mohamed Arshad Raji.
Mohamed Arshad, who was part of the institutional reforms committee, noted criticism against the government for alleged inaction by certain ministry officials on "issues of national interests".
"It is public knowledge that there are ministry and department officials that are still supportive of the previous government and their activities and action run counter to the policies of the ruling government.
"Little Napoleons do exist among the civil servants in the various ministries as well as in the local governments.
"Anyone, irrespective of their status and civil service ranking, found intentionally or negligently not carrying out the directives of the new government should face disciplinary action," he said in a statement today.
Mohamed Arshad also noted that some ministers have also complained about their frustration with having to deal with a civil service that drags its feet.
"Our new government has so much to do to put things right. As such all civil servants should adopt a no-nonsense work attitude," he said. - Mkini
