JOHOR BARU: At least two classrooms were destroyed in a fire at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taman Sri Pulai here on Thursday (August 1).
State Fire and Rescue Department senior officer Mohamad Riduan Akhyar said that the incident occurred at about 12.55pm and three fire trucks from Skudai and one fire truck from Pekan Nenas were deployed to put the fire out.
“The fire occurred on the third floor of the school, involving a toilet and a store that was totally destroyed and one science lab that was scorched at least 10%.
“A total of 14 personnel were involved in putting out the fire. There were no casualties reported during the incident, ” he said when contacted here.
He added that the source of the fire and the total damage is still under investigation.
The operation ended at about 2.50pm.- Star
