SEPANG: The KL International Airport (KLIA) is up and running again after a systems disruption last Wednesday caused flight delays and cancellations and frustration among travellers.
Everything appeared to be going smoothly during a check by Bernama at 5 pm today.
The Flight Information Display System (FIDS) at the departure hall was functioning again, providing details on the flight times, number, destination, row, status and remarks.
Passengers were seen referring to the FIDS as they entered the departure hall.
Some passengers were seen using the self-check-in kiosks while several were seen still enquiring about their flight details at the information counters.
It is learned that the peak departure hours at KLIA are between 5pm and 8pm every day.
Although the situation continues to stabilise, Malaysia Airports volunteers were still seen approaching passengers to provide assistance.
Announcements about the airport facing a systems disruption and passengers being reminded to go for immigration clearance after checking in could still be heard. - FMT
