Man crushed to death by tree in Sipitang

SIPITANG: A man was crushed to death by a tree in Kg Luagan here on Saturday (Aug 3).

The victim has been identified as Hamdi Diman, 41.

A representative from the Sabah Fire and Rescue Task Force Centre said five firemen were deployed to the scene after a distress call was received at 4.52pm.

"An operation was carried out to extricate the victim from the scene.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel and handed over to the police for further action," the representative said.

The operation ended at around 8.10pm.- Star
