PETALING JAYA: A man has been slapped with 45 charges at the Magistrate’s Court here for cheating a salesgirl into buying 751 fake tickets for an upcoming concert by Irish pop group Westlife in Shah Alam this week.
Kelvin Raj Selvaraj had sold the tickets to Sim Ting Ting for RM151,756.
Kelvin pleaded not guilty to the 45 charges under Section 420 of Penal Code. He could face a maximum 10-year jail sentence if found guilty.
Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham allowed a RM30,000 bail for Kelvin but ordered him to surrender his passport.
Westlife is due to perform this week. It was reported that tickets priced between RM273 and RM693 had been sold out. - FMT
