Cops probe 'Nga Kor Ming Super Fans Page' over posting on Selangor ruler

Police are investigating a Facebook page which asked Chinese Malaysians upset with the removal of bilingual road signs in Selangor to protest in front of state ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mazlan Mansor said a report has been lodged against the “Nga Kor Ming Super Fans Page.”
However, he declined to reveal further details.
“If I am not mistaken, there is an investigation. The report was lodged yesterday. Let us investigate and look at the issue from all angles...

“I do not wish to comment at this stage,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.
Malaysiakini learned that the report was lodged in Shah Alam by an escort to the ruler and police are investigating the case under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act.
In a statement, Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming said the Facebook page was not linked to him nor DAP but was masquerading as such.
He claimed that there were at least two "mirror pages" called "Nga Kor Ming Super Fans Page" and their content showed they had existed since November 2018 and August this year.
Nga said allegation by former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak that the page was linked to him was baseless, adding it was a dirty political tactic against him.
"It is evident that there is a dirty political conspiracy that attempts to tarnish my image and DAP's where they are slandering me of trying to spark dissatisfaction towards the sultan of Selangor.
"This allegation is illogical and a dirty political trick," he said in the statement.
Nga said he had ordered his senior private secretary. Tan Tiong Yih. to lodge a police report today and to provide authorities with evidence of the said conspiracy.
The politician said he would also be lodging a report with the MCMC.
Nga Kor Ming
Nga had previously issued a similar denial and criticised Najib for pointing the finger at him and DAP.
“The posting is from a page masquerading itself as 'Nga Kor Ming Super Fans Page' but it is not from me or DAP.
“A check online found that the posting Najib referred to was from a page titled 'Jiu Shi Huang Ya' which has nothing to do with me or DAP. This proves Najib lied again,” he added.
Najib had asked the government to act against the Teluk Intan MP and accused him of inciting the Chinese to hate the Selangor ruler.
The posting had said that since it was Sultan Sharafuddin who decreed the removal of the road signs, vexed Chinese should vent their frustration at him.
In an unrelated development, Mazlan declined to comment on international news reports which claimed that fugitive businessperson Jho Low is now in Los Angeles.
"Not to my knowledge. Ask the person who gave the information, we (police) don't know,” he added.
The authorities have been on the hunt for the Penang-born businessperson, who has been described as the mastermind behind the 1MDB scandal. - Mkini
